Tasting Notes
Key flavour descriptors:
Bruichladdich’s signature citrus and floral style enhanced with rich dried fruits, oak spices, and toasted almond
Nose:
Gentle floral scents open on the nose, followed by light fruit notes of apple and apricot. There is a soft nutty character with hints of citrus orange, honey, sweet vanilla and a subtle minerality nodding to Bruichladdich’s signature style. The sherry casks bring dried fruit, rich nutty aromas and oak spices, beautifully enhancing the fruit laden character of the spirit
Taste:
The palate is soft and incredibly viscous. The delicate balance of various spirit types, ages and cask types – used to create Bruichladdich’s signature house style - has found an extra dimension with its sherry cask maturation, adding dried fruits, dates, orange peels and baked bananas in brown sugar. The sherry cask influence complements notes of ripe apricot, pear, malt sugar and smooth vanilla custard from the American oak. A drop of water adds another layer of depth, with tropical fruit, light citrus and gentle marine notes
