Within Bruichladdich Distillery portfolio, the Octomore range is the super heavily peated single malt, matured entirely on Islay. This new release is distilled in 2010 from the 2010 barley harvest. It is 8 years old whisky that firstly spent four years of its life in fresh bourbon barrels, then was moved into Sauternes casks that are incredibly rare. These casks came from remains undisclosed but the quality of French oak they have used has been perfect.

Tasting Notes

Tropical fruits aromas from the Sauterne cask brings strong peach and melon notes to the spirit. The resulting whisky has a mellowness which compliments the high levels of peat to give a perfect structure.
